ABOUT MONIQUE

I am a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Australian Psychological Society (APS). I have completed a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice. I have 12 years experience working with children, teenagers and adults with a broad range of clinical presentations. My special interests include:

TREATMENT APPROACH

My treatment approach is based on a solid conceptualisation and formulation and is tailored to the needs of the individual. I practice from a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

TRAINING

I possess a wealth of training and experience in both Private Practice and within Queensland Health. My professional journey includes training at the Brisbane Private Psychiatric Hospital, where I provided short-term, intensive treatments to both inpatients and outpatients. Additionally, I have worked with children and families at the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) which has equipped me with the experience and ability to address the unique mental health needs of younger clients. At True Self Psychology, I am proud to provide tailored care that meets the specific needs of those I support.

I am a certified Level 4, Group Triple P Therapist – helping parents to raise confident, happy children through gentle, positive parenting strategies.

Siena Stacey | Admin

Siena is a first-year psychology student at the University of Queensland. After completing an undergraduate degree in Law, Siena decided instead to follow her passions and is working towards becoming a registered psychologist. She loves all things music, literary fiction and magical realism novels and a good vintage fashion find at the op shop. You may see Siena’s smiling face when you come in for a face-to-face appointment at True Self Psychology.

At True Self Psychology, we believe in providing an affordable service for clients with competitive fees.

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
A Mental Health Care Plan is part of Medicare and will enable you to have access to 10 sessions per calendar year and will provide you with a rebate of $141.85. The rebate for School/Home visits is $165.95. Please enquire with your General Practitioner about eligibility for a Medicare rebate under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Private Health Insurance Rebate
I am registered with all major Private Health Funds. Your level of Private Health Insurance cover may entitle you to a rebate for any consultation fees. Please enquire with your specific insurer for an estimate of your individual refund. You will be responsible for all claims under private health insurance.

NDIS
I also accept patients who are approved under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Please enquire for more information.
